My family and I went up to Smithville Lake for the 2017 eclipse with another family. We spent about 6 hours at their beach front and picnic areas. It was a great experience and the beach area is just big enough. The swimming area goes to about 5 feet deep and the water is fairly warm in the summer.Camping fees range from $14 - $24 per day depending on campsite location and camp facilities.
